Investing in our schools
As part of the NSW Government's plan to rebuild essential services, the 2023-24 Budget is delivering a
record $8.8 billion for new and upgraded schools. This targeted investment in growing communities will
ensure working families get access to a world class public education.
Project overview
To accommodate current and future growth in the area, this project will deliver a new high school for the
growing community in Melrose Park. This is in addition to the redevelopment of Melrose Park Public
School and upgrades for Dundas Public School. Further updates will be released as this project
progresses.
This school will not only provide essential education infrastructure but also accommodate the
anticipated increase in enrolments in the area and allow families to conveniently access educational
facilities close to home.
The new school is scheduled for completion in 2027.
Progress summary
During the early planning phase we have:

links and possible shared area opportunities for the new school
▪ conducted site investigations and needs analysis
▪ worked with internal architects to develop masterplan options.
Next steps
▪ Finalise concept designs and ongoing development of the design in consultation with representatives
from the Department of Education.
