Wentworth Point Public School is getting a School Crossing Supervisor!
The pedestrian crossing on Burroway Road has successfully met the requirements for a School Crossing Supervisor (SCS)!!
A big thank you to the school community, especially the Wentworth Point PS P & C, for raising this issue with me and advocating for improvements to pedestrian safety in the local area.
Funding for this important role is confirmed and a person has been recruited for the job. Due to training requirements an exact start date is to be confirmed soon.
WENTWORTH POINT PUBLIC SCHOOL STAGE 2 UPGRADE APPROVED
In the 2023 NSW Budget the Minns Government committed funding to progress with the Stage 2 upgrade to Wentworth Point Public School.
The upgrade will include additional permanent classrooms to meet the growing enrolment demand. The library will be reconfigured to better suit the needs of the school, with open spaces maximised and the temporary demountable buildings removed.
The Development Application (DA/425/2023) for the upgrade has been approved and the conditions of consent have been provided.
The tender process for a contractor to undertake the works will start soon. Once a contractor is engaged the timeline for works will be determined with School Infrastructure NSW.
The final detailed designs for the upgrade will be developed with the contractor, School Infrastructure NSW and school leadership which you can view here.
HOMEBUSH BAY CIRCUIT - BENNELONG PARKWAY BRIDGE AND PATHS
In the 2023 NSW Budget I secured $8 million to fund upgrades to Bennelong Parkway.
The good news is that the designs have been completed and approved by the City of Parramatta Council to be placed on public exhibition in April.
As the bridge is within a mapped coastal area an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) will be required for exhibition. The EIS will be hosted on the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure website.
